Elemental Numerics grew from advanced CFD research at the University of Cape Town into a specialist computational and engineering company. Our close research-to-industry pipeline continues to bring new numerical methods, technical expertise and skilled researchers into practical real-world engineering solutions.
2. We don’t just use CFD. We develop it.
Our team combines expertise in CFD, numerical methods, solver development and advanced modelling. Around 70 person-years of postgraduate and postdoctoral research underpin the technology and specialist capability behind our engineering work.
3. Our proprietary technology — AlphaFlow
That expertise has culminated in AlphaFlow, our commercial multiphase CFD platform. Developed for demanding liquid-gas problems where speed and accuracy matter, AlphaFlow gives our engineers a differentiated capability for specialist projects and is also available for licensing.
4. From aerospace to broader industry
Our roots are in aerospace, space and demanding multiphase CFD. Today, we apply that expertise across a growing range of applications including cryogenic storage, marine and LNG systems, HVAC, pressure vessels, mining and industrial engineering.
